This is a gem, I was trying to find the tango n3 deck right now, almost 3am in the morning when I stumbled upon your website. I only have almost 4 months left to study for jlpt N3 in july. It's my first JLPT exam and I'm going straight for N3. I'm not sure if I will pass but I'm determined to do it. I've been studying on and off japanese since october last year and grammar is one of my weakness. I guess goodluck to me. Thank you again! I'll update here if I pass it or not lol

Hi James! Thank you for your comment and kind words!🙏🤗 I am very happy to hear you found this post helpful 😁

I also went straight for N3, so it is totally foable! If you want to gain confidence just do a mock test or two to see what areas you need to improve and to check if you are fast enough 💪 For me, using Anki to remember grammar patterns and doing tons of drills really helped boost that section of the test. Good luck to you! 🤞🍀

Thank you very much again! And I'm just curious since it's going to be my first time for JLPT, based on your experience taking the N3 exam directly, was it mixed of grammar points and vocabs from N5-N3? And I guess do you have other advices or pointers that I need to look out for aside from the things you mentioned in this post? I'm really nervous to be honest, I took a mock exam once and it brought doubts in my mind however I'll still do my best 😁🥲

Hello again :) I think to pass N3 you need to have master N5 and N4 grammar/vocabulary. The focus of the questions will be on N3 but you might have some questions from lower levels (specially NO) and also some harder words (i.e. from N2). As there are no official content lists for each level it can be hard to tell which one the examiners decide belongs to which.

I mentioned everything I could think of in this post so there is nothing else that comes to my mind at the moment 🤔

If you have doubts remember that you still have time to improve for the exam. 3 months is a long time! Focus on the areas you are not passing and give it your all. Worst case you will still have December ;) Don't be discouraged! 💪 😁
