Part 1: Amazing YouTube playlists suitable for beginners (~HSK1 to HSK3).
Hello again! After struggling to find listening resources to try to improve my Chinese listening skills as a beginner, I have decided to start a 3-part series of resources that I will be sharing with you.
For this first part, I made a curated list of YouTube playlists that I have found useful so far or that I plan to begin using as I see a lot of potential in them โญ๏ธ
๐ Best Youtube Playlists ๐
๐ซSpeak Chinese Naturally by Learn Chinese Essentials
This playlist shows videos of a little girl that is learning Chinese practicing it with her native mother, as well as clips extracted from other sources.
The format is very interesting as they contain the same clip played three times: First, without subs; second, with Chinese & English subs; & third, with Pinyin & English subs. Total videos: 67.
๐ซ Slow Chinese Stories (Newcomer - HSK 1/2) by Mandarin Click
Simple stories with simultaneous Chinese subtitles and pinyin embedded into the video, with optional English captions. We also see the face of Mandarin Click, which can help with shadowing and overall comprehension. Total videos: 16.
๐ซ Slow Chinese Stories (Beginner - HSK 2/3) by Mandarin Click
Same concept but higher level. Total videos: 24.
๐ซ Dialogue/Conversation-ๅฏน่ฏ/ไผ่ฏ-ๅฐ่ฉฑ/ๆ่ฉฑ by Teacher Liu
Content extracted from the books from the Overseas Chinese Language and Culture Education Online website.
A wide range of situations are covered, helping you master daily conversation. Only Chinese subtitles are shown. Total videos: 23.
๐ซ Mandarin Chinese Stories-ไธญๆๆ
ไบ(English subtitle,่ฑๆๅญๅน) by Teacher Liu
Content extracted from the same website as the previous playlist.
Different children stories are told with simultaneous Chinese and English subtitles with an animated video. At the end of the clip, the full script including pinyin is shown and the story is told once again with English subtitles at the bottom. Total videos: 40.
